Agenda 2030

In 2015 in New York, during the 70th Session of the United Nations General Assembly there was adopted an agenda for sustainable developments (known as Agenda 2030). It indicates seventeen Sustainable Development Goals to be achieved by the international community over the next fifteen years.

It has been the first time that the international development agenda includes such a clear reference to culture as a field that has a direct impact on such issues as the standard of living of societies and individuals, possibilities of reducing poverty areas and building civil societies.

The implementation of UNESCO programs and conventions on the protection and promotion of cultural and natural heritage, as well as the development of cultural industries and programs implemented in cooperation with national governments are of key importance for the implementation of the 2030 Agenda.
