As part of the Soundocracy grant program, we are implementing a number of diverse artistic and educational initiatives that combine musical activities with ecological, social and interdisciplinary activities. Below are the projects currently underway:
Abstract Emergency Meetings
Concert series curated by Kevin Górzynski, who is responsible for the selection of repertoire, invited artists and artistic direction of the entire event. Górzynski actively participates in the events as a musician playing an acoustic or electro-acoustic drum kit. The project focuses on contemporary and experimental music, and is expanded to include elements of performance and audiovisual arts. All events are open to the public and free of charge.

Rhythms of West Africa – EcoDrum Workshop
A series of percussion workshops where participants develop a sense of rhythm and learn about the music and culture of West African countries. The classes use both traditional ethnic instruments and instruments made from recycled materials, such as plastic buckets or bottles. The aim of the project is to promote pro-environmental attitudes and integrate the local community. Musical accompaniment to the workshops is provided by the Wasamba band.

Benefit Concert of Emo Bands
The project involves organizing a concert of bands playing emo music in Bydgoszcz. The purpose of the event is to popularize this music genre and to bring the audience closer to the topics addressed in the lyrics, often related to emotions, sensitivity and generational experiences.
The ticket price has been set at PLN 10. All proceeds from the event will be donated to Food Not Bombs Bydgoszcz, a social initiative dedicated to providing free vegan and vegetarian meals to people in need.

Bumblebee
An experimental sound project dedicated to bumblebees – one of the key but endangered species of pollinating insects in urban environments. The project combines elements of field recording, ambient music and audio ecocritical narration. The project will include:
a cassette tape with a sound composition based on bioacoustic recordings of the bumblebee environment,
an educational insert containing information on their function in ecosystems and threats to their habitat,
a premiere event in the form of a concert-listening show, aimed at sound artists, ecologists and people interested in the acoustic urban landscape.

Mirrors Sessions
A project promoting Bydgoszcz’s music scene through a series of four live sessions held in outdoor public spaces. The initiative allows local artists to present their work free of charge in a professional audio-video form, and at the same time encourages residents to discover lesser-known corners of the city.
The leitmotif of the project is recycled mirrors, symbolizing the reflection of Bydgoszcz’s artistic identity and promoting the idea of recycling. In addition, the project will include a short documentary film about Bydgoszcz’s music scene and the idea behind the project.
The project is scheduled to run through September and October.
Punk and Vege
A two-day music and socio-cultural festival combining concerts by punk bands with workshops and activities promoting plant-based cuisine and grassroots initiatives. The event takes place in Bydgoszcz, at the Over the Under Pub space.
On the first day, concerts by bands Ye.stem, Kogia.P, Wagon and Sequoia are scheduled. At the same time, workshops in yoga and relaxation and sports massage will be conducted.
On the second day, the program will be enriched with a concert by the Wasamba band, Afrodance workshops, an African jam session, a joint barbecue and the continuation of yoga and massage classes. Vegan food will be available throughout the event, and participants will be able to support the Food Not Bombs organization’s efforts.

Live music – live body
The “Live music – live body” project combines artistic activities with social integration and promotion of active citizenship. It assumes the organization of three dance sessions with the participation of musicians performing live music. The initiative involves local artists – musicians and dancers – as well as participants interested in experiencing music and dance directly in a community space.
The project creates an open space for building interpersonal relations, exchanging experiences and strengthening social dialogue. It aims to develop collaborative skills, promote democratic and community values, and celebrate cultural diversity and individual talents. Local cultural institutions, media and civic initiatives are also involved.
