Bydgoskie Studio Eksperymentu (Bydgoszcz Experiment Studio) is a series of musical artist residencies that promotes creative encounters transcending genres and boundaries. Each edition brings a new set of personalities, a new sound language, and new questions posed to reality—through noise, silence, poetry, and mistakes. In 2025, two concert evenings are planned, resulting from previous residencies: June 27 and July 19 at the MÓZG club (ul. Parkowa 2, Bydgoszcz).

Performers: Roman Bromboszcz, João Marque Desmarques
“I am putting together a trio that would probably never meet under any other circumstances,” says Adam Kempa, who invited two figures from the ends of the world and imagination to Bydgoszcz. João Marque Desmarques is an experimental fado guitarist from Lisbon, associated with the noise movement and the Associação Terapêutica do Ruído collective. He improvises with the help of a Portuguese guitar and a cassette tape recorder. Roman Bromboszcz, on the other hand, is an avant-garde poet, science fiction writer, and electronic music creator for whom sound is a tool for deconstructing language and reality.
The result of their joint effort will be a performance that could be anything—an experiment, a failure, a revelation—but certainly not something predictable.

July 19, 2025 | 9:00 p.m.
Curator: Remi Vein
Performers: Niet F-n, Patrycja Pączkowska
The second residency focuses on what is organic and imperfect. Remi Vein, an artist from Bydgoszcz who combines sound with image, invited Niet F-n, an Italian electroacoustic musician, sound engineer, and creator of unusual instruments, and Patrycja Pączkowska, an improviser, flutist, and vocalist from Toruń, to collaborate with him.
The creators will attempt to transform real sounds into something new without losing their original character – exploring murmurs, breaths, noise, and silence as fully-fledged compositional tools.

About the project
The Bydgoszcz Experiment Studio is an initiative of the Mózg Foundation as part of the application project The Platform of Newly Created Transgressive Sounds Bydgoszcz UNESCO City of Music. The aim of the project is to create a space for uncompromising exploration of sound and crossing artistic boundaries. Each residency ends with a public concert and audiovisual documentation.
The program is supported by, among others, the Nowa Sztuka Wet Music Foundation, Art Mintaka, the Municipal Cultural Center, and the Civic Dialogue Commission for Culture.
