Bydgoszcz’s musicians will soon perform at the London Jazz Festival 2025 – one of the most important jazz events in Canada!
As part of an exchange of cities from the UNESCO Creative Cities Network, they will play a joint concert with the Seth McNall Sextet, a band that was formed out of a passion for jazz and the tradition of Joe Edmonds. Today it is a collective presenting original music, balancing between bebop, cool and hard-bop, with a touch of modern improvisation.
And who are our representatives?
Bydgoszcz Jazz Academy is a unique concert initiative that showcases the potential of students and faculty of the Jazz Department Feliks Nowowiejski Academy of Music in Bydgoszcz. The project was created in cooperation with the Municipal Cultural Center and for years has been proving that Bydgoszcz jazz has a world-class level.
Why Canada?
At last year’s Bydgoszcz Music Summit 2024, our Academy’s performance made such a huge impression on representatives of the London UNESCO City of Music that… an invitation to the festival was only a matter of time. The music worked like magic.
And the concert itself? Already sold out!
As many as 35 bands are taking part in the festival, and the stage will feature, among others:
