We are proud to share the news that Bydgoszcz – a UNESCO City of Music has been nominated for the prestigious “Best Global Music City” award at the Music Cities Awards 2025!
This is a great honor for us – we were among the cities from around the world that uniquely use music as a tool for social, economic and cultural development.
The competition is organized by Music Cities Events together with Sound Diplomacy. MCE is an international organization that runs the largest conferences and platforms dedicated to music in cities. Sound Diplomacy, in turn, is a global consulting firm working at the intersection of music, culture and urban policy, supporting the development of creative and sustainable communities around the world.
Last year’s Music Cities Awards attracted:
– more than 300 entries from 25 countries
– media coverage of more than 206 million
– coverage in BBC, Rolling Stone, GQ
– among the winners: Salvador de Bahía, DGTL Festival or Curbside Concerts
As a UNESCO City of Music, Bydgoszcz consistently invests in culture and supports artists, institutions and musical initiatives. This nomination is proof that music truly builds the city.
