This year’s edition of the Próba Dźwięku project, which was a joint celebration of International Music Day for the entire city and various music communities, has come to an end. Over the course of six weeks, 26 events took place—concerts, workshops, meetings, and performances—showcasing the richness of musical experiences and the power of collaboration between artists, institutions, clubs, and audiences.
This year’s edition confirmed that synergy in culture has real power – bringing together different creative communities, genres, and generations in a spirit of dialogue and openness.
Events
The program was opened by Opera Nova in Bydgoszcz with an open rehearsal of “The Carnival of the Animals,” followed by performances by Fish Basket and Blizny from aboard the Lemara barge.
The following days featured, among others:
- Caro Trio string concert at Fanaberia café,
- an energetic performance by SVAHY in collaboration with the Potop Fountain Enthusiasts Association,
- music workshops for young people at the Polish Theater in Bydgoszcz,
- jazz interpretations of classics at the Eljazz club,
- concerts at Music Cafe Szpulka, Ostromecko Palaces, and Toniebajka bookstore,
- recital by Krzysztof Pełech in Leon Wyczółkowski Regional Museum ,
- an avant-garde concert by Sławek and Qba Janicki, Steve Buchaman, and Tapiwa Svosve at the Mózg club,
- performance by Antoni Majewski and Julian Paprocki at the Synagogue Foundation in Fordon,
- A musical and literary meeting with storyteller Magda Polkowska during the closing ceremony of the exhibition at the bwa Municipal Gallery.
- anniversary concert to celebrate 100th anniversary of the Artur Rubinstein State Music School Complex in Bydgoszcz ,
- piano concert by Tomasz Kłeczek and Damian Tatara at the Municipal Cultural Center,
- premiere of Variété’s album “Sieć Indry” (Indra’s Net),
- Family Poetry Reading in The I. J. Paderewski Pomeranian Philharmonic .
- concert by the UKW Children’s Music Integration University,
- radio play “Can you hear time?” in The Provincial and Municipal Public Library named after Dr. W. Bełza ,
- experimental concert by Grzegorz Pleszyński and Kevin Górzyński at the Pleszyński Kobra Gallery,
- concert by the rock band Godot at Młyny Rothera,
- concert by the winners of the Battle of the Bands – the band Hematyt and the hosts Over The Under Pub, joined by rappers Azja and Mełcin, DJ Paulo on the turntables, and a brass section.
- Jazz Big Band ’75 concert at the Youth Palace,
- performance by vibraphone player Michał Bobak at Galeria Wspólna, combined with the opening of Adam Gillert’s exhibition “Układ” (The Arrangement),
- musical presentation Wanda Rucińska Chamber Theater ,
- Adam Kośmieja’s final concert at the new headquarters F. Nowowiejski Academy of Music , which was also the first concert on the new Campus
