November 11, 2025, at 8:00 p.m. in Opera Hall of the New Campus of the Feliks Nowowiejski Academy of Music in Bydgoszcz The premiere of the first act of the transgressive opera fairy tale “The Mirror” took place – a unique performance combining music, theater, and visual arts.
“The Mirror” is a contemporary opera fairy tale telling the story of a man—a scientist—who, during his spiritual and intellectual journey, discovers a moving truth about the universe and about himself.
The priority of The Platform Of Newly Created Transgressive Sounds project is to cross boundaries. In such a diverse and heterogeneous world, the concept of transgression comes to the fore. Going beyond stereotypes—also in art—becomes a way to find oneself in a reality full of conflicts, dangers, and paradoxes.
Today’s man continues to face new threats, theories, and discoveries that attempt to define his place in the universe. From ancient explorers of the truth about the cosmos, through Newton, Einstein, and Hawking, to the revolution in quantum physics, our understanding of time, space, and existence itself is changing.
This evolution of thought has influenced the consciousness of modern man, regardless of religion, culture, or place of birth. It was Freud’s discovery that inspired us to create a work that touches on the universal fears of the world in the third decade of the 21st century.
The performance was created thanks to the collaboration of outstanding artists from the fields of literature, theater, classical and contemporary music. The project was realized thanks to the support of the “KPO for Culture” initiative, the Bydgoszcz City of Music UNESCO program, and F. Nowowiejski Academy of Music in Bydgoszcz .
