May 25, 2018. On the territory of the Republic of Poland and the entire European Union, the Personal Data Protection Regulation came into force. The full name of the regulation is Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of the European Parliament and of the Council of April 27, 2016. on the protection of individuals with regard to the processing of personal data and on the free movement of such data and the repeal of Directive 95/46/EC (General Data Protection Regulation). Personal data is also protected by the Data Protection Law of May 10, 2018.

The basic premise of the RODO is to protect the rights and freedoms of individuals from impermissible and unauthorized processing of their personal data.
