Pomeranian Philharmonic

The Pomeranian Philharmonic is a cultural institution of the Kuyavian-Pomeranian Voivodeship, co-managed by the Minister of Culture and National Heritage. It is counted among the country’s leading music institutions. Its hall is famous for its excellent acoustics and is equipped with a 47-voice mechanical organ. Symphonic, chamber music, educational concerts and recitals are held here.

City Gallery bwa in Bydgoszcz

The gallery has existed since 1949, and the current building was built on the initiative of Andrzej Szwalbe in 1970. bwa City Gallery presents all disciplines of contemporary art by authors from the Bydgoszcz community, from Poland and abroad.

Kujawsko-Pomorskie Cultural Center at Bydgoszcz

The Kuyavian-Pomeranian Cultural Center in Bydgoszcz has existed since 1954. It is an institution financed from the budget of the Local Government of the Kuyavian-Pomeranian Voivodeship. Over time, the role and tasks carried out by the KPCK have changed, but these have always touched the professional and amateur sphere of cultural activity. Today, operating in the realities of the market economy, the Kuyavian-Pomeranian Cultural Center in Bydgoszcz establishes cooperation with other cultural institutions, non-governmental and business organizations also undertaking a number of activities in the field of management and promotion of culture.

Municipal Cultural Center

The Municipal Cultural Center in Bydgoszcz conducts interdisciplinary artistic activities, presenting visual artists, photographers, musicians, writers, etc. It has six locations with different cultural profiles, including the Headquarters, the Common Gallery, Lemar’s Barge, the Palace and Park Complex in Ostromecko, the Fordon Cultural Center and the House of Letters.

The District Museum in Bydgoszcz named after Leon Wyczółkowski

Its Roots date back to 1888 and it is now made up of 6 departments: art, history, archaeology, history, technology, Exploseum and Bydgoszcz Pharmacy. Currently there you can see an exhibition of the phonographic collection “Sounds from under the needle”, with various playing equipment, physical records of music in various forms and much more. The exhibition runs until 1.10.2025.

Rothera Mills

Former grain warehouses, and today a center for education and culture. Meetings, vernissages, exhibitions, concerts, installations and demonstrations of various other art forms are held here. It is a meeting place and exchange of experiences for Bydgoszcz residents.

Opera Nova

It is the largest and most important cultural institution in our province, run with the cooperation of its local government together with the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage. It hosts the Bydgoszcz Opera Festival as well as many operettas, ballets and musicals. Its fourth circle is currently being expanded.

Teatr Kameralny

It is housed in a building with a long history of cultural use. Before the war it was one of Bydgoszcz’s many entertainment inns, later transformed into a theater, which it was until the 1980s.In 2021 it was put back into use as a renovated theater stage.It hosts mainly performances for children and young people.

Polish Theatre

Established in 1920, the theater operates in the Bydgoszcz Music District. In addition to performances, it also hosts lectures, debates and workshops. An annual preview festival is held and a drama prize is organized by the city council.

Provincial and Municipal Public Library in Bydgoszcz

It may surprise you, but in Bydgoszcz even the library is associated with music. The attic of the main building sometimes hosts very intimate acoustic or relatively quiet concerts. The library is run by the provincial government, and in its neighborhood branches, concerts are sometimes held.
