Open Call
Bydgoszcz City of Music UNESCO announces a call for submissions for the BPM DUO production residencies for artists working in the music field.
Our aim is to share experience and support international creative networks through a programme that supports artists by providing time and space for collaborative work. The three-week residency responds to the need to step outside the fast-paced rhythm of the music industry and to create conditions for meaningful artistic exchange.
Openness, collaboration, and creativity form the foundation of the programme.
Who is it for
For two experienced musicians aged 21 or over, residing in the European Union (excluding Poland), who have not previously collaborated and wish to develop a new artistic initiative together. Applicants apply as a duo, submitting a joint project concept. The selected pair will be invited to a three-week residency in Bydgoszcz, which includes shared accommodation and a dedicated workspace for creative work.
When
Residency 1: 04.05.2026 – 24.05.2026
Residency 2: 01.06.2026 – 21.06.2026
(applicants choose one)
Where
In Bydgoszcz, one of the largest cities in Poland, located in Central Europe. The city is a cultural centre with deeply rooted musical traditions and an active local community open to collaboration.
What do we expect
The residency is primarily intended for the development of the musical project proposed in the application.
Residents are also expected to engage with Bydgoszcz’s local music community by:
a) taking part in a meeting with the local music community and sharing their artistic practice,
b) presenting the outcomes of the residency in a public concert.
Financial support
Each resident will receive an honorarium of 500 EURO for the duration of the residency. Travel costs to and from Bydgoszcz will be covered by the organizer up to 300 EURO per person (round trip). Accommodation and workspace will be provided by Bydgoszcz City of Music.
Depending on the nature of the submitted project, residents may also have the opportunity to work in a recording studio. The number of studio hours will be arranged following the selection process.
